It is the oldest part of Florence were the first "botteghe artigiane" (handcraft shops) were born together with the most important Art Schools like the one of Brunelleschi. Still today it is the headquarters of all handcraft activities and of Florentine tipical works (leather, jewellery, ceramic, furniture, etc.).
